United States: In his latest statement, Trump indicated that he would vow to overhaul the FBI and the Justice Department if he wins the November 5 presidential election.

Furthermore, the ex-president also seemed to pledge to use the agency to pursue his own opponents, such as Democratic President Joe Biden

According to one of the nine allies of Trump who were interviewed by Reuters, the plan was based on two factors, one of which was the individual who was permitted to speak anonymously.

Plan revealed by the allies of Trump

Firstly overflow the Department of Justice with staunch conservatives who will be unlikely to deny any to any controversial orders from the white house.

Second: There is the need to reorganize the department such that the crucial decisions will run their course through the mouth of administration not deserving but politically inclined bureaucrats, as Reuters reported.

Moreover, the allies said, the FBI – which many Republicans see as biased against them – would have more limitations on its authority, with many of its responsibilities shifted to other law enforcement agencies.

Steve Bannon, a prominent Trump ally who was prosecuted by the Justice Department and convicted for contempt of Congress, said, “Trump feels that the DoJ has institutional problems,” and, “It’s not just personnel: you do need to purge the DoJ, but you also need to reform it.”

The further shocking revelation of the agenda

Moreover, overhauling the Justice Department would also serve the purpose of allowing the Trump administration to follow conservative policy initiatives which includes dismantling hiring programs, whose purpose are to boost diversity in the world.

It also includes ending the federal overlook of police departments accused of racist practices.

The Trump campaign referred to statement from December by co-campaign managers Susie Wiles and Chris LaCivita. They said, “Unless a message is coming directly from President Trump or an authorized member of his campaign team, no aspect of future presidential staffing or policy announcements should be deemed official,” as Reuters reported.

More about the Trump’s promises

Trump’s plans to thoroughly reform the Justice Department have been frequently brought up, and however, measures and how to achieve that purpose have not been given adquate spotlight.

As two senior Trump associates told Reuters, the supporters of the elimination of the FBI’s standing as a recurring general counsel office are those who, in the 2017–2021 term were enthralled by the FBI’s general counsel position, which enraged Republicans by conducting an investigating into the contacts between the Trump 2016 campaign and Russian officials.

The general counsel of the FBI offers legal counseling to FBI agents who are dealing with ongoing inquiries and other topics. Shutting it down would result in the bureau’s attorneys having to cow-tow to the attorney general’s level even closer to Trump in the chain of command and tighten the noose on FBI’s autonomous investigations that could be potentially high-risk if closely monitored by a political boss, according to several Trump advocates and legal professionals with knowledge on the department’s inner workings.
