United States: Till now, forthwith Microsoft has conveyed USD 3.3 billion in Wisconsin by building a data hub with an aim of workers training and manufacturing companies’ better utilization of AI.

Announcement by President Biden

In the latest update, President Joe Biden will announce the news at Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin City, on Wednesday to highlight the administration’s initiative to accelerate the creation of new jobs in the US.

The announcement comes six years after the Trump administration made available USD 10 billion for tech company Foxconn with the promise to create 13,000 jobs. However, later, Foxconn decided to exit from the plan of establishing the plant on the same Wisconsin land, as CNN reported

A brand-new center project is scheduled to employ 2,300 union construction jobs and 2,000 jobs on a permanent basis over time, as per Microsoft.

It will produce 100,000 workers for the AI center, which is what the company did to CNN. In addition, it means accessing a lab on the premises of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, which will assist companies and manufacturers in using the technology within their businesses.

Satya Nadella, chairman and CEO of Microsoft, completed his master’s degree in computer science at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, in which his company profile attests to these academic works.

In his Wednesday remarks, Biden apparently will say it with his face: the failed project is an issue of Trump’s performance, a White House official added, CNN reported.

In his remarks on Wednesday, Biden plans to directly point his finger at Trump for the failed project, according to a White House official.

In addition, the president’s tour to the battleground state will be a chance for the White House to attempt to show some of Biden’s administration’s first-term key achievements. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and Chips Act are both legislation that invests money in the United States in semiconductor chip manufacturing, and that will improve Wisconsin.

In a White House fact sheet that launched the presidential tour of Wisconsin, the government explained that 177,000 jobs had been added to the state of Wisconsin since the president entered office in 2021, where the addition of 4,000 jobs was observed in Racine specifically.

In a fact sheet released by the White House ahead of the president’s visit, the administration says that 177,000 jobs have been added in Wisconsin – 4,000 specifically in Racine – since the president took office in 2021.

Last year Biden signed an executive order on AI which intends to open doors for innovators in technology, give resources and assistance, encourage small business to come up with ways of exploiting AI innovations, and supports funding programs for AI research in fields such as healthcare and climate change.

Biden’s urge for AI regulation

In his March urge, Trump pushed Congress during his State of the Union address to pass legislation to artificial intelligence, which includes banning, AI voice impersonation and more.” He added that lawmakers need to “harness the promise of AI and protect us from its peril,” thereby warning that there are the technology’s risks to Americans if left unchecked.
