United States – Mr. Joe Biden, the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee, will travel to the pivotal political state of Wisconsin today. He hopes to capture the votes of suburban women, Black Americans, and Latinos in the Midwest.

Campaign Video Release

The Biden campaign released a new video named “Let’s Go” after voters in Georgia helped the 81-year-old incumbent candidate secure the last of the 1,968 delegates necessary for nomination. This will put on the table a battle that will be the first in the US presidential rematch in nearly 70 years, as reported by Reuters.

Biden has ramped up his thrashing of late against Former President Trump, 77, and his so-called campaign of resentment, retribution, and recrimination that has been threatening the very idea of America.

In Milwaukee, Biden will continue a trend he employed in the state of Ohio recently, and that involves him saying more about the economy even though that strategy has not succeeded so far in terms of persuading many likely voters he will then open the campaign’s local offices before moving to Michigan on Thursday.

Focus on Economy and Infrastructure

Biden will announce the same amount of money – USD 3.3 billion – in projects in 40 states that will allow the reconnection of communities divided by highways years ago, thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act.

This includes USD 36 million intended for construction works along Milwaukee’s 6th St. The funding is supposed to increase the size of the pedestrian areas and install bicycle lanes and dedicated bus lanes, in addition to green infrastructure for the prevention of sewage from flowing into Milwaukee River, it says.

Cabinet’s “I’m on Board” Campaign

The President’s visit is part of a monthlong endeavor of his cabinet’s “I’m on board” campaign, which aims to back the chosen side in the states that can make or break the 2024 election. Within the past week, Joe Biden has already been in Pennsylvania, Georgia, and New Hampshire.

US Vice President Kamala Harris, a candidate in the last Tuesday’s election, arrived in Wisconsin last week where she announced her support for the White House economic plan and stated that they can help apprenticeship programs, as well as provide “good-paying union jobs.”

“Now, the general election truly begins, and the contrast could not be clearer,” Harris said in a statement on Tuesday.

Political Significance of Wisconsin

Wisconsin is a politically crucial state, and the Biden team hopes the state will be won by their party in the US presidential election by November to be reelected, with the 270 state electoral votes required for reelection. The state with a population of nearly 6 million people went into Biden’s column, winning him by 1% of votes. In contrast, the state had voted for the Republican candidate Trump in 2016.

Organizers expressed the opinion that the number of pro-Palestinian people who will march to protest the Pres. Biden’s visit to Milwaukee will be in the hundreds, who are gathered over his response to the war that Israel launched as per the Oct.7 attack of the Hamas militant group that killed about 1,200 people, as reported by Reuters.

Numbers show that over 30,000 people died in Gaza as a result of the Israeli military response, according to the Palestinian authorities, and the war left some of Biden’s core bloc of voters, like young Americans, mostly left-leaning progressives, feeling angry.
